After collecting many valuable insights at BioWest last week (you can read more about it here), we’re now looking forward to the second stop of our little “regional trade fair tour” this week – BioOst in Leipzig.
Some of you might wonder: Is it really worth it when the exhibitors at regional trade fairs are often quite similar? For us: Yes, absolutely. First, because the program item we were most looking forward to in Düsseldorf was cancelled at short notice – and fortunately will take place again in Leipzig. Second, because even at a manageable trade fair like the regional ones, a single day is hardly enough to really have all the conversations, maintain contacts, and gather the impressions we had planned. And finally, every trade fair is a chance to discover something new, even when there seem to be similar topics at first glance.
Moreover, BioOst in Leipzig has been an important trade fair for years for all players in the organic industry in eastern Germany. Here, not only exhibitors meet, but also many trade visitors from the region who (unlike us) often only visit the nearest regional trade fair. Therefore, each regional trade fair offers its own unique opportunity to make valuable contacts. Even though some of the exhibitors in Leipzig are the same as at BioWest, we’re confident that we can expect a new perspective and different dynamics from Leipzig. The different geographical and industry-specific focuses often lead to exciting conversations that might not yield the same results in other regions.
BioOst therefore gives us not only the opportunity to catch up on what we missed – but also to gain a new perspective on the industry and engage even more intensively with current challenges. We’ll also be attending the program items offered in Leipzig:
📊 Organic Retail Trade: Current Figures and Developments
→ April 13 | 11 AM – Presentation by Simon Döring (BioBerater SDServices)
Last week in Düsseldorf, we unfortunately had to miss this presentation – all the more wonderful that we get the opportunity to hear it in Leipzig after all. Simon Döring’s assessment of market developments in organic retail trade was a real highlight for us at last year’s regional trade fairs. The organic industry is currently facing many challenges, so it will be exciting again to hear what the market forecasts look like and what solution approaches Simon Döring has to offer. The market developments of recent months and their impact on trade are of great importance to us, as they directly affect our work and that of our customers.
💬 Why is everything getting more expensive?
→ April 13 | 12 PM – Panel discussion with Franziska Geyer (Ökotopia), Malte Reupert (BioMare) and Lukas Küttner (Ostmost) → Moderated by: Detlef Harting
Prices, prices, prices – the topic that probably concerns everyone right now. Costs are rising and pose major communication challenges not only for consumers, but also for retailers. We’re curious about the panelists’ perspectives – and hope for concrete impulses on how organic retail trade can communicate this trend to customers transparently and effectively.
We look forward to exchanges, impulses – and familiar faces
At BioOst, we’ll again be strolling through the exhibition halls, visiting our customers, and being available for conversations. We don’t have our own booth – but as in Düsseldorf, the same applies: Feel free to approach us if you see us, or send us an email at short notice and we’ll arrange an appointment. We’re always open to interesting conversations and new contacts and look forward to further expanding our network.
And for everyone who (understandably) prefers to spend their Sunday in the sunshine rather than at BioOst: We’ll of course report back here on the blog about how our trade fair day went – with our personal highlights, inspiring encounters, and certainly one or two thoughts that we’ll take home with us.
We’re excited about everything that awaits us in Leipzig and look forward to sharing our impressions with you afterwards.
