Farfalla

All-round sustainable feel-good products

Ecological, humane and responsible action with respect for the dignity of people, animals and nature form the basis of Farfalla’s business activities as a cosmetics manufacturer.

Since the mid-1980s, the Swiss have been proving that a company can do good worldwide in this way and be successful at the same time. With its high-quality products, Farfalla follows the most demanding principles in terms of sustainability: animal testing, genetic engineering and nanotechnologies or synthetic raw materials have always been a no-go. Instead, natural products of the highest quality from all over the world are produced under fair and environmentally friendly conditions.

Farfalla’s production in Switzerland is largely emission-reduced. The head office in Uster (CH) has been using only natural electricity for years, and most of the production facilities and sales outlets have also switched to renewable energies. Employees receive regular training on sustainability, there is a sustainable vehicle fleet and a take-back system for packaging, which is always made from recyclable materials.

Ecological and social factors are consistently applied in purchasing and production. Farmers around the world are particularly happy to work with the Swiss manufacturer: They are paid fairly for growing the raw materials for the valuable cosmetics, so that their reference in turn makes organic farming popular in their home countries. Farfalla is involved in a large number of different projects, ranging from France to Madagascar, which provide numerous people with a livelihood. In the course of all these socio-ecological activities, the company developed its own “Grand Cru” standard.

Although Farfalla rarely adorns itself with the term sustainability, the company is a prime example of love for people and nature in a corporate context. The successful commitment to the preservation of pristine cultivation areas and the self-determination of the local people prove how effectively even a single company can be committed to sustainable development.

No wonder Farfalla was one of the pioneers of the CSE standard.
