Sustainable sanitary solutions for a better world

Imagine you’re at a festival and suddenly you feel the urgent need to go to the toilet. You make your way to the sanitary facilities, but instead of the usual cubicles, something completely new awaits you: dry toilets from Goldeimer! These unique toilets are not only environmentally friendly, but also a real innovation in the field of festival hygiene.

But Goldeimer is more than just festival toilets. The non-profit company was founded by people who were concerned about the importance of sanitation for society. They realized that the handling of human waste has far-reaching effects on the environment and health. This realization inspired them to tackle the issue of toilets and bring about change on a social level.

Goldeimer has a very special founding story, which began in 2011 with an incisive trip to Burkina Faso. During this project trip, which he undertook together with Viva con Agua, founder Malte was struck by severe diarrhea, which prompted him to think about the importance of toilets and sanitation for the first time. In 2012, he began his bachelor’s thesis on alternative sanitation systems and at the same time experimented with the first dry toilet prototypes in the bathroom at home.

The years 2013, 2014 and 2016 marked significant milestones for Goldeimer. In these years, the first two Goldeimer composting toilets, made of wood, were presented at festivals. These dry toilets were a great success and aroused the interest of many people for sustainable sanitary solutions. In 2016, Goldeimer then launched the first social toilet paper on the market as a non-profit limited company together with Viva con Agua and Budni.

In 2022, Goldeimer went a significant step further by becoming responsibly owned. This step underlines the company’s vision and is entirely in line with its own values. After all, self-determination and asset retention, as prescribed by the Economy for the Common Good, is entirely in line with the philosophy that Goldeimer has pursued since its foundation. This innovative approach ensures that Goldeimer is not only economically successful as a company, but can also make a positive contribution to the common good.

Goldeimer’s history is characterized by innovation, social responsibility and the pursuit of better sanitation for all. From festival toilets to the sanitary turnaround, Goldeimer is an inspiring example of how a company can act in the service of the environment and the common good. This is only made clearer by the certification of some products according to our NCS standard. For years, Goldeimer has impressively demonstrated that it is also possible to manufacture high-quality, affordable products in the sanitary sector that are a real benefit for the environment and the quality of life of many people around the world.

By purchasing Goldeimer products, you bring real sustainability into your bathroom and support charitable work for the sanitary turnaround at the same time.
