Thinking business “differently” is really fun. This was not only demonstrated by the impressive start-ups last Thursday in Berlin. More and more large companies are also demonstrating that things can be done differently. Whether it’s local delicacies, sustainable film production or climate-neutral beer, people are changing the world with their ideas and companies! To mark the 25th anniversary of UnternehmensGrün, GfaW is celebrating the association’s successes together with many other entrepreneurs. UnternehmensGrün is committed to responsible business practices. It is concerned with important issues such as fair prices for products, sustainable agriculture, renewable energies and many other factors for a green economy. These issues must be heard across party lines, as small and medium-sized companies with ecological interests in particular are not represented in lobbies. The event showed that green companies are well represented by the association. We are finally being given a voice by political representatives in Germany and the EU. The young, dynamic association does not shy away from unconventional topics such as the unconditional basic income. We are enthusiastic about UnternehmensGrün’s commitment and are delighted to be a member for the third year now. For entrepreneurs who are not yet able to achieve CSE certification, we recommend joining the association. The exchange between members provides new inspiration and everyone can form a working group on a specific topic. In the coming year, GfaW will also be convening a group within the association to address the “true prices” of a sustainable economy. Inspired by the activities of Christian Hiß (book: Richtig rechnen! Durch die Reform der Finanzbuchhaltung zur ökologisch-ökonomischen Wende, oekom Verlag), the aim of the group is to develop an alternative financial accounting system. The GfaW wants to make a contribution through this working group. The aim is to determine true figures that can be used in alternative accounting.
