PRESS RELEASE New seal of quality for natural products to accompany therapy – NATURE THANX

There is now a clearly defined seal of quality for care products that are as environmentally friendly as possible and can be used to support therapy: NATURE THANX is the name given by the Society for Applied Business Ethics (GfaW) to its new standard, which guarantees that products such as neurodermatitis ointments, callus creams, and similar items are manufactured in a manner that is as natural as possible.

As is customary for GfaW, there are clear and transparent criteria for this. In addition to the mandatory renunciation of animal testing and genetic engineering, the tested products comply with certified natural cosmetics standards. Only four nature-identical active ingredients that cannot currently be produced from plant, animal, fungal or mineral raw materials are tolerated up to a defined quantity and for a defined period of time: urea, panthenol, biotin and allantoin.

With its demanding criteria, NATURE THANX meets the need of environmentally conscious producers to clearly communicate their efforts to be as close to nature as possible despite using fewer natural raw materials. The German Federal Association of Natural Foods and Natural Products (BNN) has also confirmed this legitimate concern by including the label in its product range guidelines.

In order to move beyond the status quo as quickly as possible in terms of environmental compatibility, GfaW is simultaneously committed to promoting research and development in the field of natural active ingredients—and has also made this a requirement of the standard. Complete transparency regarding ingredients contributes to the credibility of the seal.

The Society for Applied Business Ethics is the point of contact for issues relating to ecological products and certified sustainability in companies. For more than six years, this standards body has been contributing to the expansion and market penetration of ecological product diversity with its own ecological product certifications.
