BÜFA is the first raw materials manufacturer to receive the NCP logo for its brand
The medium-sized company BÜFA is now the first raw material manufacturer to have its “solverde” brand tested and certified in accordance with the natural product standard NCP of the Society for Applied Business Ethics (GfaW). The Oldenburg-based company is thus sending out a clear signal for its sustainable business philosophy: chemical substances for further processing are to be increasingly replaced by sustainable alternatives. “solverde” is the brand name for these sustainable alternatives. With the NCP (Nature Care Product) certification, BÜFA is accessing the proven label of the Society for Applied Business Ethics for non-food products, which guarantees natural ingredients, the absence of petrochemicals and animal testing as well as other elementary ecological criteria. The successful audit also represents a milestone for GfaW as the standard setter. “Certified organic raw materials simplify the development and competitiveness of natural alternatives for end consumers. NCP certification is therefore not only an important quality mark in the direct business relationship with consumers, but also in all areas of the value chain. We are therefore very happy that BÜFA has made the start,” says Managing Director Sophie von Lilienfeld-Toal. An additional advantage for BÜFA customers: If the purchased fabrics are already certified, certification of the end products is also easier. The fact that BÜFA trains its customers in processing the more sustainable alternatives in order to simplify the use of natural resources makes “solverde” a complete package for modern, environmentally-oriented processors.
Behind the curtain: huge potential in the manufacturing industry
The customer SODASAN, itself an NCP user and producer of ecological detergents and cleaning agents as well as a cooperation partner of BÜFA, is particularly pleased with the brand certification. SODASAN combines 36 years of development experience and supports BÜFA not only in its own efforts to reach the target group of end consumers, but also in the production of cleaning agents for industry. Especially in food and cosmetics production, production facilities often have to be disinfected and professionally cleaned. There are already effective ecological alternatives to the still frequently used “chemical club” – and plenty of potential. BÜFA aims to have converted half of its product range to sustainably produced products as early as next year. Through appropriate research, development and cooperation with other producers, the company is making a significant contribution to the spread of natural raw material alternatives.
