GfaW launches user-friendly tool for CSE certification and communication
Implementing sustainability in a targeted and efficient manner continues to challenge companies. Complicated ISO regulations, different quality standards and critical consumers make high demands. Despite countless guidelines on reporting, there is often no central hub for consistent sustainability management. With its Sustainability Tool for Assessment and Reporting (STAR), the Society for Applied Business Ethics has developed a tool that is both easy to use and user-friendly. Complicated ISO regulations, different quality standards and critical consumers make high demands. Despite countless guidelines on reporting, there is often no central hub for consistent sustainability management. With its Sustainability Tool for Assessment and Reporting (STAR), the Society for Applied Business Ethics has developed a tool that is both convenient and easy to use: CSE-STAR collects, measures, assesses and reports on the status quo and the development of sustainability in the company. Performance is condensed, transparent and successes are easy to communicate.
The CSE-STAR – accompanies companies from the first steps to the certification of their sustainability – makes sustainability performance tangible through a practice-oriented structure – offers comprehensible work processes through understandable language – ensures secure data management and annual performance review – supports the introduction of quality management according to ISO 14001:2015
Sustainability management, reporting and certification from a single source
Sustainability remains a process. STAR supports the first steps, such as the introduction of environmental management or the creation of a QM manual. A sustainability report can be generated at any time from the entries for the individual criteria, supplemented by a clear graphical representation – in star form, of course.
CSE-STAR sustainability management, report and certification from a single sourceIf the company achieves an above-average sustainability performance, certification is the obvious choice. The STAR ultimately leads to the world’s most demanding sustainability standard: Certified Sustainable Economics (CSE), whose criteria form the basis for auditing and evaluation. The audit required for CSE is significantly simplified by the software, as the results obtained can be transmitted directly to the accredited certification body.
Simple support for complicated specifications
Another plus: The STAR overcomes the often complicated and formal language of many regulations and specifications. The criteria are queried in simple language. Explanatory notes and downloadable sample templates (for defining the scope of application, checklists for internal audits, forms for documents, management assessment, etc.) make it even easier to answer the questions. To enable direct comparison, the tool also provides links to criteria from other reporting systems (DNK, CSR, GWÖ, GRI, GC and SDG). Processing via the STAR software can be carried out by different people and can be interrupted at any point. An overview later shows which questions still require editing or reworking. GfaW Managing Director Sophie von Lilienfeld: “We want to make certification as easy as possible for companies. After all, sustainability efforts should never fail due to comprehension problems and formalities.”
