The free event organized by UnternehmensGrün and GfaW offers new insights into the world of sustainable consumption
Who hasn’t experienced this overwhelming situation: I want my shopping to be as environmentally friendly as possible, but what should I bear in mind? Can I pay attention to everything? Which criteria are important and are there priorities? What distinguishes real sustainability from bogus solutions and possible marketing strategies? At the first Gelnhausen Sustainability Symposium, four experts will address these exciting questions. The activist and Ecoropa President Christine v. Weizsäcker will start with her lecture: “Sustainability influences our lives”. Dr. Katharina Reuter, Managing Director of UnternehmensGrün, will then speak on the topic of “True prices for fair markets”. Sophie von Lilienfeld-Toal, Managing Director of GfaW, will address the topic of “The sense and nonsense of labels – how can I make sense of it all?” Prof. Thomas Köbberling will conclude the round of talks with his presentation “Nutrition and packaging: the change starts locally”. The first Gelnhausen Sustainability Symposium will provide information on the background to economic activity geared towards the common good and give practical help for clear orientation between sham solutions and real commitment to protecting people and the planet.
